As the daylong manhunt for the 19-year-old student stretched into the evening, university police identified the two victims as as James Eric Davis, Sr.and Diva Jeneen Davis, the parents of the suspect. The lockdown included K-12 schools and many local businesses, such as a Target and other big block stores near the university, were closed as police helicopters circled overhead.

Earlier, officials in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, where the college is located, said a suspect was wearing mustard-yellow jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt and was considered armed and unsafe. Investigators believe he is still in the city limits. If you see something, say something.

A student, Tyler Whipple, was driving through campus when his route was blocked by police cars at the scene of the killings.

"Officers will be going building to building", the university's update said. The shots were said to have come from the fourth floor of Campbell Hall, which is a residence hall.

They remained locked down in classrooms and dormitories hours later. Access to most of the buildings is limited, and individuals must have identification to enter, according to campus officials. Davis was taken to a hospital and released Friday morning.

We're told Friday was the final day before spring break for students.
