Bollywood icon Sridevi passes away, film industry mourns

Her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter were with her at the time of the incident in Dubai.

According to Indian media, Sridevi brother-in-law Sanjay Kapoor confirmed her death.

Well-wishers are now rushing to Sridevi's house in Mumbai to be with Janhvi. She had two daughters, Jhanvi & Khushi Kapoor.

Apart from Hindi films, she had acted in Malayalam, Tamil, Telegu and Kannada movies as well.

Sridevi, a Padma Shri awardee in 2013, began her career as a child artiste and grew up to be one of the most phenomenal female stars India ever had.

On Sunday, just before the news of her death broke, Big B tweeted in Hindi saying he is feeling uneasy and he didn't know the reason behind it. Twitter users were quick to notice that Big B had a premonition about her untimely death. Her daughter is set to make her Bollywood debut this year. Sridevi made a comeback to films in 2012 with English Vinglish, which was both a critical as well as commercial success. In 1978, Sridevi appeared on the silver screen at the leading actress with film Solva Sawan. After this, she was a part of several commercially successful films such as Khuda Gawah, Lamhe, Chaalbaaz, Mr India and many more.

Sridevi is known for beauty all over the country with her talent.

The actor took a break from films after marrying producer Boney Kapoor in 1996. Several people from the Bollywood industry are rushing to Sridevi's house in Mumbai to stay with her elder daughter Janhvi who is now home.
