Former Sinton star Banda traded to Tampa Bay Rays from Arizona Diamondbacks

According to the New York Post's Joel Sherman, the Yankees sent 2016 second-round pick Nick Solak, a second baseman, to the Rays in the three-team deal, which also saw the Diamondbacks get outfielder Steven Souza.

In exchange, the Rays received left-handed pitcher Anthony Banda, two players to be named later from Arizona and minor league second baseman Nick Solak from NY. Souza broke out previous year, hitting 30 homers with an OPS of.810. He played in a career-high 148 games, stole 16 bases and became the eighth player in franchise history to hit 30 homers in a season.

For their part the Diamondbacks sent Brandon Drury to the New York Yankees.

Drury played predominantly at second base last season, although he has seen action in dozens of games at third base and in the outfield, too, in his young career. Arizona has moved quickly to fill that hole in the outfield, signing speedy Jarrod Dyson to a $7.5 million, two-year contract on Monday before trading for Souza. Solak is among the best second field prospects in baseball.

Brandon Drury will be headed from the D-backs to the Yankees, sources told FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman.

He made his major-league debut last season, going 2-3 with a 5.96 ERA, 25 strikeouts/10 walks in 25 2/3 innings. He started all 27 games he pitched and finished the season with a 3.39 ERA, striking out an impressive 9.7 hitters per nine. He was traded by the Brewers along with outfielder Mitch Haniger to the Diamondbacks at the 2014 trade deadline in exchange for outfielder Gerardo Parra.

Drury gives the Yankees a new option at third base and second, where NY was projected to start a pair of rookies.

The Yankees traded Nick Solak on Tuesday evening.

Coming from the Diamondbacks, Drury, 25, put up a.267/.317/.447 slash line to go with 13 home runs and 63 RBI.
