Vodafone introduces new Rs 158 prepaid plan with 1GB/day data benefit

The difference with Jio is even steeper, as charges only Rs 3.55 per GB under its 149 plan compared to over Rs 5 per GB for Vodafone and Idea. Jio has a prepaid plan priced at ₹149 that offers unlimited local and STD voice calls, free roaming, 100 free SMS per day, complimentary subscription to Jio apps, and, 1.5 GB 4G data per day for 28 days that translates to a total of 42 GB of data. The new Rs 109 plan comes with a validity period of 14 days and offers unlimited voice calling and 1GB per day data benefits. Telecom companies are scrambling to offer cheaper data plans ever since Reliance Jio entered the fray and changed the industry with its 1GB data per day plans.

It will also compete against Airtels ₹168 plan which offers unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day and 1GB data per day for 28 days for the Airtel partnered 4G handsets.

This led to an increase by Bharti Airtel in its data allocation of its Rs 199 plan from 1 GB to 1.4 GB per day. 100SMS/Day Local and National are also bundled with this prepaid recharge plan. The new plan is available on website and application which means that it is an open market plan for all users. The pack also includes 100 SMSes per day. Sadly, this plan doesn't offer SMS benefits like the other telecom operators.

Initially, Reliance Jio was the sole provider of unlimited data and calls anywhere in India for really low tariffs.

Idea cellular seems to be on a roll these days. Users also get 1GB per day 4G/3G data for a validity of 28 days.

This new Rs 109 prepaid plan is available in selected areas only which including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, and others. Interestingly with a difference of only ₹7 Vodafone is offering 27GB more data.
