Hindu side send proposal to AIMPLB to resolve Ayodhya issue

A "Hyderabad Declaration" will be issued here on Sunday afternoon by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) after the conclusion of its 26th plenary. The clarification has come amid media reports that Salman Nadvi, a member of Board is engaged in an out of court settlement with Hindu Guru Ravishankar.

"It's his personal opinion and the Muslim board rejects it".

Samiti president Amarnath Mishra proposed in a letter to the AIMPLB president that they instead construct a mosque on the land to be given by the Nirmohi Akhara.

Nadvi, who teaches at Lucknow's Nadwatul Ulema or Nadwa Madrassa, is also an executive member of the AIMPLB.

Regarding his Ayodhya Proposal, Salman Nadvi said there are provisions in the Islamic Shariah to shift a mosque in certain situations.

Meanwhile, the Muslim personal law board has constituted a four member committee comprising of board's president Syed Rabey Hasani Nadvi, President of Jamiat Ulema Arshad Madani, Wali Rahmani and Khalid Saifullah Rahmani to decide what action is needed to be taken against Salman Nadvi.

As per the source, the board issued a statement after the Friday meeting, to rule out a compromise on the land in Ayodhya.

Nadvi said top leaders from both the communities should meet to hammer out an out-of court settlement to the lingering dispute, the TOI reported. "We believe in our judiciary system", said a member of Board executive. The government should allot land to Muslims away from the disputed site for a mosque and a sprawling university and Hindu leaders should not stake claim to any other Muslim place of worship, he said.

The petitions before the judges relate to the 2010 verdict of the Allahabad High Court in the title suit that had been pending for almost six decades.

On Thursday, the three-judge Supreme Court bench fixed March 14 as the next date of hearing in Ayodhya case as some of the documents and translations were yet to be filed before the apex court.

The convenor of the Babri Masjid committee of the board allegedly expressed discontent over Nadvi speaking publicly before raising any issue in the AIMPLB, and stated that the latter had damaged the board's reputation at a crucial time.

Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute is a century old point of a tussle between the Hindus and Muslims.

The Babri Masjid built in 1528-29 CE that stood in the same site was demolished by Hindu Karsevaks on December 6, 1992 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, which caused massive riots across the country.

Without naming anybody, he said that misleading rumors are being circulated, to the effect that some elements are trying to misguide the people on the Babri Masjid issue. The Babri case is not about Aastha.
