Obama: There is no political influence in any investigation

Former President Barack Obama pledged that he did not speak with FBI directors about pending investigations throughout his presidency in a 2016 interview with Fox News' Chris Wallace.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday released almost 400 pages of texts messages exchanged between FBI agent Peter Strzok and bureau attorney Lisa Page. POTUS is an acronym for "president of the United States". The outcome of the race was "disappointing", he said, adding that Loudoun County is "still largely ignorant hillbillys". A new report from Senate Republicans yesterday alleged the FBI is biased against President Donald Trump, raising pressure on the agency as the White House fights off the mounting Russian Federation collusion investigation.

The tranche of communications include a September 2, 2016, exchange in which FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and bureau lawyer Lisa Page discuss talking points on the case that were prepared for then-FBI Director James Comey.

They were released Wednesday by the Senate Homeland Security Committee in a report, "The Clinton Email Scandal and the FBI's Investigation of It".

Senator Johnson recently came under fire after hyping that "secret society" text after it came out and pretty much everyone recognized it as sarcasm.

The last text is from Page to Strzok, and comes on June 23, 2017 when she wrote, "Please don't ever text me again".

Trump responded to the latest disclosure of texts by tweeting Wednesday that the messages were "bombshells", though it wasn't exactly clear what he was referring to.

The text messages were provided by the Justice Department to Congress, and are part of an inspector general investigation into the handling of the Hillary Clinton email inquiry. Some conservatives also believe the effort to depose Trump continues within special counsel Robert Mueller's probe, which, among other things, looks into possible collusion between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign.

On Election Day 2016, Page wrote, "OMG THIS IS F***ING TERRIFYING".

Many of them discuss office issues, but also show the two making disparaging comments about Trump before and after the election. The two were preparing talking points on the Hillary Clinton email investigation for then-FBI director James Comey.

Republican lawmakers noted that Strzok was lead investigator in the probe of Clinton's secret email setup, and identified him as the Federal Bureau of Investigation official who urged Comey to use the words "extremely careless" rather than the legally weighted "grossly negligent" to describe Clinton's email practices as secretary of state. "Less than worthless", Strzok replied. "Figure I need to brush up on Watergate".

That exchange is included among 384 pages of text messages between Page and Strzok provided by the Justice Department to Congress and reviewed by The Associated Press. Fox News' Jon Scott said before moving on.
