In their separate messages on this day, President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have said the dream of peace and prosperity in the region will remain elusive without resolving decades-old Kashmir dispute.

Separately, the foreign office (FO) on Monday summoned Indian deputy high commissioner J P Singh to protest the latest "unprovoked" ceasefire violation by India from across the Line of Control (LoC). He vowed to stand by the people of Kashmir that were struggling for their right to self-determination.

Asserting that Kashmir is a part of India and will continue to be so, Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said Indian forces will fire countless bullets if Pakistan fires one.

Earlier, on his arrival to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) capital, Nawaz held a meeting with members of the AJK Council, party leaders, AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider and others.
