Paul Donovan reviews Fire and Fury by Michael Wolff

Endeavor Content has acquired the rights to Michael Wolff's No. 1 best-selling book, "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House", and plans to develop it into a TV show or a feature film.

Wolff will executive produce the series, which will be shopped to various networks.

Hope Hicks earns the enormous amount for her role as "assistant to the president and director of strategic communications", according to an official White House salary list.

Almost everyone who spoke with Wolff thought someone else in the White House had approved their participation.

In less than two weeks since its release, combined e-book, audio and hardcover sales now top 500,000 for Wolff's sensational account of a dysfunctional Trump administration.

The book, which went out earlier this month ahead of its planned release, sent across the political world over a number of incendiary claims it makes about the first year of the Trump presidency.

"Fire and Fury" portrays a chaotic White House in Mr Trump's first year as president, based on extensive interviews with Mr Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon and others. Instead of complying, publisher Henry Holt moved up publication by four days.

During one discussion with Trump about her on-off boyfriend and fellow Trump worker Corey Lewandowski he is said to have told her 'You're the best piece of tail he'll ever have'.

The US president defended his mental state and declared he was a "very stable genius" after the book raised questions about his fitness for office. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said it is "trash" and largely fictional. Although if HBO wants to make it a movie, something on par with Game Change, which was about the rise of Sarah Palin during the 2008 presidential election, I could also get behind that.
