'Home and Away' Actress Jess Falkholt Passes Away

The 29-year-old has been fighting for life in St George Hospital since she was pulled from the wreckage, along with her sister Annabelle, 21, on December 26 near Ulladulla. She passed away surrounded by loved ones who have refused to leave her side since the devastating incident. Her parents died on the scene of the crash while she and her sister were airlifted to the hospital. Jessica has reportedly undergone several surgeries, including the removal of a kidney and part of her skull, and has been in a coma.

Jessica Falkholt has tragically had her life support turned off just one day after the funeral of her parents, Lars and Vivian, and her younger sister, Annabelle.

Falkholt has been in a coma since the accident, and had her life support pulled on January 11, just one day after her mother and father were laid to rest. "A relative told Daily Mail: 'We made sure Jess wasn't alone and her friends were able to be there with her..."

'Everything we have done and every decision we have made has been done with the advice of doctors and social workers.

'I always thought we would grow old together'.

"Speaking about the accident, Jessica's uncle, Paul Ponticello, said: "[It's] a day that will be hard to erase from our memory", adding that Lars was known for being an excellent driver.

'The irony of this tragedy is Lars was such a careful driver, ' Mr Ponticello said.

'Their lives on this earth ending on a highway makes absolutely no sense'.

'They are together and always will be.

While the actress is best known for her appearance in long-running soap Home And Away, she enjoyed minor roles in Aussie dramas Underbelly: Badness and Tricky Business.

Craig Whitall, 50, who was the driver of the other vehicle involved the crash also passed away. Local reports have described Whitall as a "serial traffic offender" who was driving home from a methadone clinic when his auto collided with the Falkholt vehicle.
