Netflix is coming to the Razer Phone-in HDR

Gaming accessories company Razer has created a laptop extension that, when coupled with a Razer Phone, creates a working, LED lit Android laptop.

As with many of Razer's concepts, there's now no release date for Project Linda.

The way it works is that the Razer Phone docks in face-up position where the touchpad would normally be found.

"Android power users and laptop enthusiasts share a need for performance in a mobile form factor, which we provide with our award-winning Razer Phone and Razer laptops", Razer chief executive officer Min-Liang Tan said in a statement. Although Razer says it's going to optimise audio output when docked, it already sounds pretty solid as a means of delivering laptop-quality sound. When you connect the two devices, the phone powers a 13.3-inch screen, a full-sized keyboard, and the option to plug in external devices like a mouse. For now Razer is gathering fan feedback, but we wouldnt get too attached – juts take Linda for what it is, a cool-looking concept.

Enjoy Android games in new ways with Project Linda. While Project Linda is initially planning to run off of the Razer Phone, it's just the first step into a much more significant ecosystem... Once plugged in, the phone's display transfers to the laptop's 4K 120 Mhz touchscreen display, with the smaller screen acting as either a touchpad or a secondary display.

With a full sized keyboard in place, users will benefit from a more responsive and faster typing experience. The notebook doesn't have any speakers, instead relying on the front-firing speakers of the Razer Phone. The laptop also contains a 53 Wh battery that Razer claims can charge the phone up to three times, an additional 200 GB of storage, a single USB Type-C charging port, a USB 3.0 Type-A port, and a headphone jack. The device is clearly aimed at the massively popular smartphone gaming market, and aligns with Razer's coin-based microtransaction business, especially in regions like China that embrace both mobile and browser-based gaming.
