Reliance Jio upgrades plans with Happy New Year offer

Reliance Jio, the Mukesh Ambani-led telco on Friday launched two new "Happy New Year 2018" prepaid plans of Rs 199 and Rs 299. He launched Jio during the past year and achieved great success through the mobile data offers.

Reliance Jio, the telecom operator that disrupted the market is back again with impressive bundled plans.

This plan is valid for 28 days and offers pre-paid customers 1.2 GB of high speed data per day, unlimited SMS, unlimited voice calling and a subscription to Premium Jio apps for all Jio Prime members. For Rs 459, users will get 1GB data per day over 84 days, while at Rs 499, a total of 91GB for 91 days and at Rs 509 plan to get 2GB data per day over 49 days. The Rs 299 plan offers the same talktime, SMS and JioPrime benefits, but will allow users to access upto 2GB of 4G data per day. Like the Rs 199 plan, this one also offers access to Premium Jio apps to Jio Prime members.

Incidentally, neither Airtel nor Vodafone has 1GB daily data plan under Rs 350. The Rs 199 tariff plan for Xiaomi Redmi 5A gives 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. Here is the complete information regarding the presently available packs which are providing 1GB of 4G data per day. With a validity of 56 days, this pack has benefits like 1GB 4G data per day, unlimited voice calls - local, STD, and roaming - to all national operators. We can also get the unlimited local and STD calls. There is even interim plan that costs ₹459 with 84 days of validity. We'd expect the other telecom operators to also get more aggressive in the coming year with their tariff plans. Here are the Vodafone tariff plans which will supply 1GB of 4G data in a day. The free calls are limited to 250 per day and 1,000 per week. And it will be interesting to see how Airtel, Idea Cellular, and Vodafone India reacts to these two plans from Jio.

Airtel prepaid users in metros, including New Delhi can now avail the prepaid data pack. The Rs. 399 pack also offers up to 100 free SMS messages per day.

Subscribers availing this pack from the website or app will get an additional 1 Gb data for the listed validity period.

The free calls are limited to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week, after which 1 paisa will be charged per second.
