MS 5-year-old calls 911 to save Christmas from the Grinch

"The Grinch is not going to come steal your Christmas".

Tylon Pittman was watching videos on a smartphone when he called authorities after seeing the Grinch taking presents before Christmas, WLBT reported.

TyLon wants to become a police officer and doesn't seem to be too far off from accomplishing his dreams.

Dispatchers sent Officer Lauren Develle to TyLon's home to check it out and promise him that the Grinch will not steal his Christmas. Then she put on her uniform.

TyLon Pittman's brother captured the interaction on video, which he posted on his Facebook page.

The family went confused when someone knocked the door late Saturday night and they found flashlight outside the home. When they opened the door, it was Officer Develle.

In the clips with Develle, TyLon is seen showing her videos of the Grinch, telling her what he'd do if the holiday villain did try to show up to ruin his Christmas cheer.

"I want y'all to come back to my house and take him to jail", he said, citing that the Grinch "steals everybody's Christmas".

"Boy, you better stop watching so many cartoons!" he said as the police laughed.

"He steals everybody's Christmas!" the wise youngster warned.

"Take him to jail", the boy responds.

TyLon finally got his chance to ask the Grinch that question on Monday, when the Byram Police Department brought in a character dressed as the Grinch, telling TyLon they were putting him in a holding cell for the attempted theft of Christmas.

Not long after placing that call, a police officer showed up to help. Thank you to Officer Develle and BPD for not only making my little brother's day but for showing him that being an officer isn't just about stopping crime.
