Now, you can follow hashtags — Instagram's new feature

You can see photos and videos for even the weirdest or most obscure topics you can think of. If you don't know which hashtags to follow, Instagram also lists the hashtags other people follow in their profiles. One way was to search for them under the Explore tab, the other was to click on a hashtag in the body of post in hopes of finding more related content.

Following a hashtag is as easy as following users.

You will see relevant hashtags displayed in the search results along with related accounts.

The action will allow the users to receive feed from that hashtag on their respective walls along with the latest stories. Instead of trying to follow all the big stars such as Lebron James, Steph Curry and Russell Westbrook, you could just follow #NBA and then stumble upon silly clips like that one time Delonte West gave a young Gordon Hayward a wet willie.

You can do this by Liking the updates you are interested in, and tapping the menu button above posts you don't want to see again and choosing the Don't Show for This Hashtag option. Then just check on the hashtag page every once in a while if you still want to be caught up without interrupting your already busy feed.

This new feature is already rolling out for the Android app and users can download it from the link. Stories with the hashtag will also appear on the Stories bar alongside Stories from people you follow. And they promise that this is just the beginning of more discoverability tools to inspire users.
