Here's What Time Miss Universe Starts, What Channel It's On

Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was declared the victor and Miss Colombia Laura González Ospina, first runner up.

Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is the announced victor of Miss Universe 2017, Miss Colombia finished runner-up. Laura Gonzalez from Colombia was the runner-up while Davina Bennett from Jamaica came third.

As many as 92 beauties from around the world took part in the decades-old competition.

Along with the title, Nel-Peters earned a yearlong salary, a luxury apartment in New York City for the duration of her reign and more prizes.

The Philippines' Rachel Peters failed to reach the Miss Universe Top 5, ending her quest for the country's fourth crown in one of the world's largest pageants. After various rounds of competition, this year's victor beat out 91 other women for the crown, and it could not have been more deserving!

During the competition, fans of the pageant submitted the questions that the final five contestants were asked.

Former Miss SA and Miss World‚ Rolene Strauss‚ congratulated her friend on the win. "Everything is waiting for the end", the third-time Miss Universe host said. "She is a woman that nothing is ever too much to ask for and I think that is exactly who I am", replied Demi.

"HIV/AIDS is a very big problem in my country South Africa, so I hope to stand as an advocate for that", she said before reporters after the event.
