BlizzCon 2017: Overwatch to Get New Hero Moira, New BlizzardWorld Map Soon

It's a bumper night for Overwatch at BlizzCon 2017 - there's both a new hero and a new map coming! Capable of healing allies and dealing huge damage to enemies, she's a force we're very eager to cause chaos with when she arrives in the near future.

Blizzard has revealed Overwatch's 26th hero, the talented and ambitious Talon geneticist, Moira O'Deorain. Revealed by Jeff Kaplan at the event, she's come with a brand new trailer, with more details also coming later today. To play her effectively, she's got to be both doing damage and healing constantly. She is also able to teleport which will supposedly make her one of the most mobile support heroes yet. However, Blizzard did joke that she is an incredibly powerful character that the team is eager to see implemented into the game.

No word yet on when Moira will hit PTR, but expect her to be a bit controversial (just like nearly all new Overwatch characters). Her ultimate ability, Coalescence, lets her unleash a beam that will heal any allies caught in it, or deal damage to any foes caught inside of it.

Reinhardt, otherwise known as the best tank, also received his own animated short.

The new map, Blizzard World, is a theme park packed with references to every other Blizzard property, from StarCraft to Lost Vikings. Blizzard World will be a hybrid map, meaning that the first part of the map will be capture point, and after the first point has been captured, will evolve into a payload map.

What do you think about the upcoming Overwatch additions?
