Sarah Sanders Slams the Press for Being 'Completely Obsessed With' Mueller Investigation

Sarah Sanders Slams the Press for Being 'Completely Obsessed With' Mueller Investigation

"That doesn't have anything to do with the campaign or the campaign's activities", she said.

By Lalit K Jha Washington, Oct 30 (PTI) The White House today claimed that there is clear evidence that former presidential nominee Hillary Clinton colluded with Russian Federation to spread wrong information about President Donald Trump.

"How is it not collusion when George Papadopoulos is in contact with various people who are promising dirt on Hillary Clinton in a series of events that closely mirrors what occurred with the president's own son?" he asked.

The professor, the statement indicates, had "substantial connections to Russian government officials" even though Papadopoulos claimed the professor was "a nothing". And again, no activity was ever done in an official capacity on behalf of the campaign in that regard.

"Which I think that shows, one, his level of importance in the campaign and two, what little role he had within coordinating anything officially for the campaign", she said, repeating her attempts to minimize Papadopoulos' role in the President's campaign, which she said was "extremely limited".

Separately, Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, and a former Manafort business associate were indicted on felony charges of conspiracy against the United States and other counts. "The real collusion scandal, as we've said several times before, has everything to do with the Clinton campaign, Fusion GPS, and Russia", Sanders said.

She also reiterated that President Trump has no plans to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

"A lot of them took place well before the campaign ever even existed", she asserted. CBS News justice reporter Paula Reid, however, said her sources still maintain that the investigation is not winding down and could in fact take years to be wrapped up.

"We believe that it will be concluded soon", she said.
