76ers rookie Fultz out indefinitely with shoulder injury

76ers rookie Fultz out indefinitely with shoulder injury

Fultz visited several specialists and there is no structural damage in the shoulder.

An ongoing shoulder injury means Philadelphia 76ers rookie Markelle Fultz will be sidelined indefinitely and re-evaluated in three weeks.

The 76ers chose to make Fultz the No. 1 overall selection in the 2017 #NBA Draft, taking him over a host of other players with high ceilings.

PHILADELPHIA - The 76ers find themselves involved in another injury controversy with a first... The Sixers initially announced Wednesday he would miss three games and be reevaluated this coming Tuesday.

Fultz averaged 23.2 points in his one and only college season at Washington. There was something clearly wrong with Fultz's shoulder, at least we are all aware of what exactly is wrong with it and it's no longer a guessing game.

The report also stated that Fultz had to have a cortisone shot in his shoulder back on October 5, suggesting the problem has been there for a while. Fultz never looked right to begin the season and it's not a surprise to see Philly take a cautious route with the No. 1 pick. Ben Simmons missed all of last season with a broken foot.

Either way Fultz won't be playing anytime soon.

The 76ers traded with the Boston Celtics to get the overall No. 1 pick and draft Fultz.
