Police have studied Stephen Paddock's computer, political affiliations, behaviours and finances, with investigators saying they have combed through 1000 leads and a "voluminous amount of video" footage to no avail.

The brother of Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock has been arrested for child porn.

The New York Daily News reports that Bruce Paddock was a patient at the Four Seasons Healthcare and Wellness Center in Los Angeles.

Bruce Paddock was taken into custody moments ago in North Hollywood, CA at an assisted living home. He said he was shocked to hear the news, but said Paddock was a "psych" patient, who had often complained about the amount of medications he was given, but according to Simpson, Paddock needed the medicine. Lopez did not identify Bruce Paddock as the subject of the investigation.

His older brother Stephen Paddock killed 58 people and injured hundreds more when he opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas on October 1, before taking his own life.

It was not immediately clear Wednesday if he has retained an attorney.

Investigators are struggling to identify a motive behind Paddock's attack, which killed 58 and injured almost 500 at a country music festival at the beginning of October.

Court records show Bruce Paddock has a criminal record stretching back to the 1980s, with convictions for vandalism, criminal threats, theft and driving with a suspended vehicle and other arrests for which he was not convicted.

United States authorities have been in contact with the shooter's Australian girlfriend, Marilou Danley, and have met with Paddock's other brother, Eric.

The report also said Paddock may have removed the hard drive before killing himself.
