India defeated Pakistan's nefarious design to weaken India: Rajnath Singh

The National Investigation Agency is the Central Counter-Terrorism Investigation agency which came into the existence on 31st December, 2008 in pursuance to enactment of the NIA Act, 2008, on 31.12.2008, with a mandate to investigate serious offences related to terrorist activities affecting the sovereignty, security and integrity of the Country.

Stating that terrorism, including Naxalite activities, has became one of biggest challenges that the country has been facing, the Home Minister added, "Prime Minister Naranedra Modi has emerged as a strong voice against terrorism at the global level". Union home minister Rajnath Singh said on Tuesday that the "morale of terror groups as well as separatists has been hit hard ever since the crackdown against the flow of funds from neighbouring countries was launched". "This fake currency contributes to the rise of terrorism and high quality fake currency notes act as oxygen for terrorism", he added.

"Everyday, 5-6 militants are neutralized in Jammu and Kashmir due to the sustained efforts of the Army, paramilitary forces and other security agencies".

Describing terrorism as a hurdle to development, he said the NDA government had taken several steps to tackle the problem, including highlighting the issue in global forums.
