Lakeway Area resident arrives in Las Vegas to news of shooting

An official with Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport said "an airport perimeter fence near the concert venue was breached by people fleeing the scene of the incident", and airport staff "transported those people to the designated evacuation site".

Trump says authorities are "learning a lot more" about the gunman in the shooting, which killed 59 people and injured more than 500 during an outdoor Las Vegas concert.

She said he told her two weeks ago he had a "cheap ticket" for her to travel to the Philippines, which she gratefully accepted but felt the "unexpected trip home and the money was a way of breaking up".

The motives of multimillionaire retired accountant Paddock, who was not known to be suffering from mental illness, are unknown.

One week earlier, he had rented an apartment overlooking another open-air music festival in downtown Las Vegas.

"I knew Stephen Paddock as a kind, caring, quiet man".

"On face value, you've got to make the assumption he had to have some help at some point, and we want to ensure that that's the answer".

Marilou Danley, the Filipina-Australian girlfriend of Las Vegas mass-murderer Stephen Paddock, is being interviewed by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents in Los Angeles. Police said the murderer was Stephen Craig Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nev.

Marilou Danley arrived at Los Angeles International Airport at around 7:00 p.m. local time Tuesday evening, where she was promptly met by Federal Bureau of Investigation officials.

Lombardo mentioned cameras that Paddock had rigged inside and outside his hotel suite on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino - a tactic seen by investigators as a means to monitor and fend off law-enforcement officers in the hotel hallway.

"There are reports her ID was used for booking the hotel or some such detail", Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said.

"I reiterate he has no knowledge of Mr. Paddock or any knowledge as to why Mr. Paddock would do such a awful terrible thing", his daughter said.

Speaking to press on Wednesday, Danley's lawyer said his client was fully cooperating with the police over the "horrible, unspeakable acts of violence", explaining there had been a delay in Paddock's former girlfriend making a statement to the press because she wanted to give information to authorities first. He took his own life before authorities found 23 weapons in his hotel room and another 19 at his home in Mesquite, Nevada.

"The sheriff said that there were several firearms found in the room", he said.
