North Korea Discord Goes Beyond Discourse To A Show Of Military Force

South Korea's weather agency said a magnitude 3.2 earthquake was detected in North Korea on Saturday close to where the country recently conducted a nuclear test, but it assessed the quake as natural.

The quake was detected in Kilju county in North Hamgyong province, where North Korea's known Punggye-ri nuclear site is located, according to South Korea's meteorological agency.

The "quake" occurred at approximately 08:30 GMT (16:29 local time) on Saturday, reports South Korea's Yonhap news agency. We can not conclusively confirm at this time the nature (natural or human-made) of the event.

Previous quakes from North Korea have indicated nuclear tests by the reclusive state, the most recent earlier this month.

The Pentagon issued a statement after the mission was completed and confirmed that it was designated to show the many military options U.S President Donald Trump had to deal with the grave threat presented by the North Korean nuclear program. He said Kim was on "suicide mission".

Until now, the North has not tested its missiles and nuclear weapons together, opting instead to fire them separately - the missiles above ground and the nuclear weapons below.

North Koreans gather at Kim Il Sung Square to attend a mass rally against America on Saturday in Pyonyang, North Korea.

Saturday's quake follows an escalation of the combative rhetoric between the North Korean and USA leaders this week.

In another dizzying development Saturday, what seismologists say was a minor natural disaster prompted speculation that Pyongyang could be conducting yet another weapons test.

Atmospheric tests of nuclear-armed missiles, as NPR's Geoff Brumfiel reported, are unsafe for a host for reasons, including the potential for sending nuclear fallout in unpredictable patterns and, if a test were to be administered by North Korea, in the direction of the U.S.

"Trump, the president of so-called "power, ' is mad enough to wag his tongue without any consideration that he would 'totally destroy" a sovereign state". Ri said Trump will "pay dearly" for his speech Tuesday.

He said Mr Trump's repeated insults about Mr Kim made "our rocket's visit to the entire USA mainland inevitable all the more".

"It is a foolish misjudgment if Trump's gang thinks that America is safe because it's far away from the Korean Peninsula".

North Korea has been working on developing missiles that can reach the United States and its allies and pair them with a miniaturized nuclear warheads.

On Saturday, China said it will limit exports of refined petroleum products. It would ban exports of liquefied natural gas to the North immediately as well.

The fresh insults came as United States bombers flew close to North Korea's east coast.
