British Airways jet evacuated in Paris after 'direct threat'

James Anderson, a 20-year-old entrepreneur, after being deboarded wrote on Twitter, "Everyone onboard had been individually searched by armed officers, while police and fire vehicles surrounded the plane".

A British Airways flight was held at Paris airport following a 'security threat', reports claimed.

Police confirm a search of the aircraft found no threat and the alert was lifted.

'Apparently an individual has made a direct threat to this aircraft.

The flight BA0303 was scheduled to depart Paris' Charles De Gaulle for London Heathrow Airport at 7.25 am. We will all be led off the aircraft and baggage searched in due course.

Sniffer dogs were also used to search hand luggage.

He continued: "I believe the intention is to return to the same plane assuming the search is all clear".

After about an hour, he said passengers were told the aircraft had to move to another part of the airport and that's when security officers surrounded the plane.

Police and firefighters have surrounded the flight, which was heading to Heathrow.

Authorities later cleared the flight for takeoff after completing security checks, the French national police said.

'They need to make sure everybody and everything has been searched.

Following the alleged security threat, a British Airways spokesman reportedly said the safety and security of customers and crew is "always top priority".

'We would never operate a flight unless it is safe to do so'.

The security scare came as a second man was arrested in London in connection with Friday's partially exploded bomb at Parsons Green Tube station. Please refresh the page for updates.
