Xiaomi launches Mi Notebook Pro with Windows 10 and 15.6-Inch display

Xiaomi is certainly not afraid to challenge and emulate Apple in as many business departments as possible, looking to steal the iPhone 8's thunder today with a handsome, almost borderless Mi MIX 2, as well as explicitly marketing the Mi Note 3 handset and Mi Notebook Pro as iPhone 7 Plus and MacBook Pro contenders. Let's hope it doesn't make much noise. It also supports Windows Hello, furthermore, the fingerprint scanner is under-the-trackpad. It also features 2 USB-C ports however only 1 port can be used to charge the device, the 2nd port is only for data transfer.

The company has introduced this new generation laptops via their official Twitter handle with a few images of this stunning Mi Notebook Pro laptop.

- Compared to the MacBook Pro, the Mi Notebook Pro has a 19 per cent larger keyboard area. The speakers sport Harman Infinity tag. Like earlier Xiaomi notebooks, the Mi Notebook Pro is bereft of any branding on the lid - the only branding you'll see is a Mi logo at the bottom of the screen. In other words, it is all fancy stuff although how well it works is something that we can say only after using the notebook. This is a really cool and innovative feature from Xiaomi.

On the connectivity front, Mi Notebook Pro includes 3-in-1 SD card slot, two USB Type-C ports, a HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports and 3.5mm headphone jack. The two more models price is RMD 6,399 (roughly Rs 62,000) and RMD 6,999 (around Rs 68,700). Now if only Xiaomi launches the phone in other market, that'd be just great. It's about as close as you're going to get to a 15-inch MacBook Pro for under $1,000, and if you can get past the copycat looks, it's a good deal.

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro specs is indeed up-to-the mark. Intel Core i5 with 8GB RAM is priced at CNY 5,599. Powered by NVIDIA's GeForce MX150 GPU, the Mi Notebook Pro also packs latest DDR4 RAMs clocked at 2,400 MHz.

Pricing for the new Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro will start at around $858 for the i5 model with 8GB of RAM, the top model with the i7 and 16GB of RAM will cost around $1072. Xiaomi is also releasing a premium Ceramic edition of the smartphone with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
