Detroit Lions roll in 4th quarter to beat Arizona Cardinals, 35-23

Detroit Lions roll in 4th quarter to beat Arizona Cardinals, 35-23

It is a season in which there are many questions. After a rough start, Golladay had two touchdowns in Detroit's 35-23 win over Arizona - both of which showed why the Lions might have gotten a third-round steal.

Arizona announced during the game that Johnson was questionable for return.

Johnson was held in check Sunday, finishing with just 23 yards on 11 carries.

His second touchdown was much harder and more impressive. At the very least, for the first time since Johnson retired, the Lions might have a tall, deep threat once again.

David Johnson's hasn't had an easy start to the 2017 season and now it includes a wrist injury suffered against the Detroit Lions in Week 1.

But the Lions secondary made plays, snagging two first-half interceptions. He did, however, haul in six receptions for 68 yards. The Lions are a mess on defense and the Cards have swung this line a full four points which seems to indicate something is awry and that Arizona should have no issues. While the sack numbers weren't there, there were four quarterback hits and a decent amount of pressure (but a lot of missed sack opportunities).

The Cardinals opened the second half by launching a 12-play, 94-yard drive, capped off by a three-yard Kerwynn Williams touchdown run to increase their lead to 17-9, but the Lions responded with four touchdowns in the next 15 minutes. The Lions defense might be better than expected.

Worse yet, Redfern was knocked from the game, forcing kicker Matt Prater to handle punt duties for the rest of the game, the first time he's done so during his professional career.

The team was lucky to get out of the first period down only 10-0. He was 29 for 41 yards for 292 yards and threw 45- and 10-yard TD passes to Golladay, along with short passes to Theo Riddick and Marvin Jones for scores.

The teams briefly traded punts, but as the Lions lined up to boot it out of their own end zone, punter Kasey Redfern dropped the snap and was forced to scramble.

Johnson went down and was laying on his back as the medical staff came out to attend to him.
