Ronaldinho speaks on Coutinho's failed move to Barcelona

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes that he feels that Philippe Coutinho would have ended up joining Barcelona had Neymar not joined French giants PSG for a world record fee.

The 25-year-old recovered from a back injury to inspire Brazil to victory over Ecuador and Ronaldinho is adamant Coutinho will give his all for his club.

It is this back problem that will likely keep him out of Saturday lunchtime's clash with City.

According to Fernando Rodrigo of Diario Gol (h/t Alex Wood of the Daily Star), Barcelona hoped Coutinho would emulate fellow target Ousmane Dembele, who went on strike at Borussia Dortmund in order to force a move.

Coutinho's friend and former doctor back in Brazil claimed his back complaints were caused by "anxiety" over the uncertainty regarding his future, but he played and scored for his country in a World Cup Qualifier several days ago.

Liverpool have now confirmed that the midfielder will rejoin training with the rest of the first-team squad following his return from worldwide duty.

"Roberto played in the second game a little bit longer, but both are fit so that's cool, they're healthy so now we have to see".

"Of course - all good, all good".

The playmaker made a miraculous recovery from an apparent back injury to play for Brazil during the global break so he is match-fit and he took part in full training today, however, Klopp has no reason to rush Coutinho back in to the starting eleven. 'Nothing else to say, actually, so he's back and we had a really good conversation, so good, ' he stated. Coutinho remains a Liverpool player for at least one more season and will have a part to play in the club's Premier League and Champions League campaign this season.
