Lyon gets early breakthroughs in second Test

Welcome to Live cricket score of second Test, Day 1 between Bangladesh and Australia at at Chittagong. In the lead-up to today's match Mushfiqur said that Bangladesh will continue their aggressive play and will not take the safe route, even though they can not lose the series.

Khawaja, meanwhile, was dropped from an Australian team in Asia for the second time in as many tours, though he is favoured to bat No. 3 during the home Ashes series that follows.

Australia suffered their first-ever Test defeat against Bangladesh last week, and they dropped a fast bowler in this match to strengthen their spin attack.

Australian captain Steve Smith said he was considering fielding three spinners in the must-win Test against Bangladesh after their shock loss on a turning wicket in the series opener.

It is the first time since their only previous Test at Chittagong more than 11 years ago that Australia have picked three spinners.

The hosts meanwhile included an extra batsman in Mominul Haque at the expense of seam bower Shafiul Islam, meaning both sides have chosen only one frontline paceman each.

It took until the last over before tea for the West Australian to get a bowl, with his first ball dispatched by Shabbir Rahman for four, and his first over going for nine as Mushfiqur (29) and Shabbir (24) reached the interval looking increasingly comfortable.

Imrul Kayes was next to go, removed for four after a successful decision review from the tourists.

Soumya Sarkar tried to dominate Lyon, hitting him a boundary and a six in an over but he fell to a quicker delivery on the stroke of lunch, ending his 81-ball innings and a 49-run stand for the third wicket.

Steve Smith inspects the pitch on the morning of day one. The gloveman's close selection call didn't seem to affect his voice behind the stumps, as he fired off round after round of "Niiice Garry" to Lyon's work.
