Sharad says he is with Grand Alliance

Yadav who started his three-day Jan Samvad Yatra to meet the people of Bihar to discuss the outcome of Kumar's withdrawal from the grand alliance accused him of breaking people's trust by forging an alliance with BJP.

While the Bihar unit of JD (U) is seen backing Nitish, party sources say more than 12 state units have indicated support towards Yadav.

Along with his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav, former Bihar Health Minister, who is also part of the yatra, Tejashwi Yadav invited people to attend RJD's August 27 rally in Patna against the BJP to show their unity. "Of the two leaders Ramai Ram and Ram Badan Rai, who were present there, one lost the 2015 Assembly polls, while the other has no connection with the JD (U)", said Neeraj.

"I am going to meet the people and will discuss the condition of the state after the withdrawal of the grand alliance".

Hundreds of his supporters, including some JD-U leaders, welcomed Yadav as he came out of the airport, shouting slogans in his support. Yadav, who is in the state on a three-day tour, to hold "direct dialogue" with the people, expressed his unhappiness over Nitish joining hands with BJP to form a new government and dubbed it as "betrayal of the mandate". "Nitish has broken the trust of 11 crore people of Bihar", said the senior leader.

Apart from Sharad Yadav, the JD-U's two Rajya Sabha MPs - Ali Anwar Ansari and Virender Kumar have also voiced their opposition to Nitish Kumar's decision to join hands with the BJP. "Wish you all the success in your career", said Sharad Yadav. Sharad has a few times expresses his disappointment on Nitish's decision of breaking the grand alliance. The JD-U will instead set him up for a fall; a suspension from the party will mean that Sharad Yadav will be disqualified if he does not follow formal party orders or whips to support the BJP-led government in Parliament. "I continue to stand for the "gathbandhan"," he said. Even on way to Muzaffarpur, he was received by Sonepur RJD MLA and other RJD leaders at different places. Sources said instructions have been issued to JD (U) functionaries not to participate in Sharad's yatra to avoid disciplinary action.

"These things would be deliberated upon during JD (U) National Executive meeting at Patna on August 19", Tyagi said. "The JD (U) has nothing to do with Sharad Yadav, who is on a personal visit to Bihar". The JD (U) is clear that such an act will lay the basis of action against the former party chief but it will not oblige Yadav with the expulsion that he wants.
