Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and ATF are investigating on site at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center near Interstate 494 and Portland Avenue South.

A Muslim civil rights group is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the bombing of a suburban Minneapolis mosque.

Bloomington police said in a tweet Saturday evening that a preparatory examination "demonstrates the blast was caused by a damaging gadget infringing upon government law".

Law enforcement officials investigate an explosion at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington, Minnesota, on August 5, 2017.

Zaman said a member of the congregation saw a pickup truck speeding away from the parking lot. The explosion occurred in the imam's office at the center.

There are now no suspects in custody, and Bloomington police have handed the investigation over to the FBI Minneapolis Field Office.

The explosion appears to have happened in the imam's office and it woke neighbors in the area. "My supplications are with the youngsters, families, and confidence pioneers of the Dar Al Farooq Islamic Center today", he said in an announcement. Worshippers managed to extinguish the blaze before firefighters arrived, according to a statement from the Muslim American Society of Minnesota. A window was broken, and Zaman said he assumes the bomb was thrown into the office as people were preparing for morning prayer.

The center has received threatening phone calls and emails in the past, Omar told the Star Tribune.

The FBI is helping police in Bloomington, Minnesota, try to determine the cause of an explosion early Saturday morning at a mosque in the city.

"If a bias motive is proven, this attack would represent another in a long list of hate incidents targeting Islamic institutions nationwide in recent months", Malik said.

WCCO-TV reports that police say no one was injured in the Saturday blast at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington.
