Congress flays attack on Rahul's auto, seeks answers from PM

Sanchore (Rajasthan), Aug 4 (IANS) Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday visited the flood affected villages in Jalore district of Rajasthan. "BJP must know truth can't be silenced", party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said in a series of tweets.

"Stones were thrown at the vehicle in which Rahul was on his way to the helipad after meeting flood victims in Dhanera area". Though Rahul must be given credit for saying that he will not be bogged down by such acts of violence, but he should be a anxious man when it comes to his party's dwindling fortunes.

Another senior leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi too blamed the BJP for the incident and said that Rahul was attacked with the cement bricks and the SPG who was with him has suffered minor injuries.

On the other hand, The Banskantha SP said an FIR has been registered as unknown persons attacked Rahul Gandhi's auto.

Rahul later visited the Bogoleejan area of North Lakhimpur, where the Ranganadi embankment had been breached on July 11, and interacted with the affected people there. He said the Congress would not let the ruling party to take political advantage of flood victims. "We see Congress Vice President Raul Gandhi treating the floods situation as just another situation of photo opportunity", he added.

"Violence & physical attack have become BJP's culture.Cong & Rahulji get more determined to raise people's voice after every attack", Surjewala tweeted. "Are we reaching a space in our democracy where political opponents are not going to be allowed to practice democratic politics?" he asked.

"The Bharatiya Janata Party has done the task of liberating the country from the politics of dynasty and appeasement".
